The Grand Canyon of Hawaii

Another shot from Kauai… here we were at the Waimea Canyon lookout, which is at an elevation of 3400 feet. Supposedly Mark Twain called this the Grand Canyon of Hawaii, but as it turns out, he never actually made it here. I still think the nickname is warranted though. It was definitely a grand canyon in its own right. And if you look close enough, the moon was already in the sky. A pretty cool spot.
